• Family Childcare Capacity Technology Pilot Application

  • The goal of the Family Childcare Capacity Technology Pilot is to help current Family Childcare Providers be prepared when major changes to the childcare system take effect in summer 2027.

    Providers selected for this pilot receive:

    • Equipment: Based on providers’ needs could include laptop, printer/scanner, tablet, mouse, and laptop case

    • Setup: Industry expert will visit the provider’s home, set up the equipment, and provide computer skills and technology orientation (computer, internet, troubleshooting, etc.), and technology support

    • Technology Literacy Training: Provider will participate in existing online training courses through Women’s Business Development Council (WBDC)

    • Childcare Management Software Training and Support: Provider will receive comprehensive, hands-on training and ongoing technical assistance to implement Brightwheel in their daily operations

  • Are you a licensed Family Childcare Provider in New London County?*

  • Do you use Childcare Management Software (CCMS)?*
  • Do you have business accounting software (ie: Quickbooks, etc.)*

  • Technology Pilot Commitments

  • If accepted into this pilot, do you commit to applying for OEC's Early Start CT in 2026?*
  • Are you willing to commit to the accreditation process (NAEYC or NAFCC) if accepted into Early Start CT?*
  • Are you willing to complete foundational online technology courses through the Women's Business Development Council over a 12-month period?*
